What they do not seem to understand is why we live here instead of Portland. WE do not want to be like Portland. The roads have become considerably more congested in the last few years because of POOR planning. Too many people in to small of an area. Our roads/infrastructure cannot handle the can of sardines/planning commissions lack of foresight. We don’t want to be like I 5 Northbound during rush hour.

The Cathedral of Notre Dame is my favorite cathedral. It’s north Rose Window is solar illuminating praise and poetry. Notre Dame Cathedral may not be as glorious as Chartres Cathedral, but it is significantly more beautiful.
It is also the name sake of my favorite American Catholic University.

WHY does the trail have to be so wide? It seems really wide to just accomdate foot traffic and bicycles. This is going through neighborhoods. I have heard that future plans are for Trimet to take over and put in tracks or run along the path. Is that why it is so wide? Are you being upfront with all the neighborhoods that this is going through and impacting? Having a quiet trail in your backyard is different that a Trimet train running through.

Absolutely horrible, no good, very bad experience. That cost me $3,400. Last year my toilet was wobbling and I had D&F Plumbing come out to look at it, I was told by a plumber friend that it was most likely a $30 washer part… well when D&F got here, they assessed that a 4″ pipe directly under the toilet needed to be replaced AND THEN tried to sell me on a new toilet. Eventually I opted for the new toilet so he could finish it same day (I had a visitor coming from the east coast and needed it fixed ASAP). The technician measured the area and I told him that I didn’t believe the toilet he was showing me the online listing of would clear the door based on measurements, but that I wasn’t the professional. He came back later that day, changed the pipe, installed the new toilet and GUESS WHAT, the toilet would not allow the door to close. When I asked him to just screw the pipe back onto my initial toilet, he refused. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. I had to wait for him to buy a new toilet that now sits 6 inches from the wall!!!!! I was furious and honestly blacked out when he gave me the price… the work was terrible, the communication was ridiculous, the fact that my toilet now SAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM. Shockingly unsatisfactory workmanship.

Here I am a year later and my toilet is wobbling AGAIN! Tightening the bolts on the side do nothing. I travel often so it really has been maybe 8 months of being able to use this toilet and now due to his shoddy work, I will have to have another company come out and fix his mistakes. They want to charge me $119 *just to look at the toilet*… absolutely insane and disgusting. They should be ashamed of the work they did/do. STAY FAR AWAY.

But like Tara Kramer and Penny Pompei, she persevered and broke through barriers. It’s fascinating to see the variety of projects women-led companies are involved in, from building bridges to high-rise buildings.
