I think the Treasurer is being prudent with the money and thinking long term. Nothing wrong with that on this issue. Oregon is still taking chances in other area’s and if actual statistics can be trusted, young people are still moving here in droves rather then the other way around. Don’t assume Oregon is the only place struggling with this new economy. It’s bad out there for everyone.

No wonder nothing gets done here and in it’s present economic state, the future of Oregon is leaving here in droves. Oregon is no longer a log cabin that should it collapse you can rebuild it in the spring when you plant your veggies, were a little beyond that these days. It sounds like those who are making decisions on using the money are longing for a time of covered wagons and pettycoats. Let’s try living in the future and not in the past for once people. Oregon is missing it’s oppertunity to support it’s citizens in the downturn and shine for a profitable future. Hee-haw.
