If you’re taking the 17 bus, for example, from the south end of the square, at First Avenue, it’s going to be a long streetcar trip and walk to the NW 14th and Glisan bus stop. What’s lost is the immediacy of the bus mall. There’s never a wait because you can get on any bus. With trains, it may only be a few minutes, but those are minutes you could be walking.
