What kind of a fool would believe that Andy Stern or Dick Trumpka doesn’t get hefty bonuses or have a golden parachute, courtesy of ‘the worker’? The UAW sure showed its might with Ford Motor Company, boy oh boy did they ever. Good day to be a UWA worker at Ford alright!
Yes, unionism sure has leveled the playing field. Just ask any member of the Public Income Indemnification Association known as the SEUI503 that has retired on the backs of the taxpayer and moved out of Oregon. They got what they would strike for, a plush life at someone elses expense.
The union is just another boss or investor who is extorting ‘the worker’ under the guise of making everything ‘fair’. Unions only make everything they are involved with more complicated and expensive. The mindset of the unionist is that the worker gets a promise before they produce anything and the business agent is some kind of a referee that is going to look after the interests of the worker.
Unionism has outlived its usefulness and is a dinosaur stumbling towards the nearest tar pit. On the bright side, all of the hung over, incompetent, disgruntled dead weight that doesn’t know which end of a hammer is that will be confined to their prevailing wage job and their local tavern owner will hire a private contractor to build the addition.
Pro union? Goggle Delphi and ask yourself how this debacle has benefited society overall? Unions kill economies and the dirt bags who run them don’t do anything other than make promises that they have no intention of keeping.
Good luck, union suckers. What did the Screen Writers Guild get after their last strike? How better off is the average UAW worker and who will the regular boneheaded SEUI503 worker have to fleece when there isn’t enough tax revenue to go around? Just keep driving nails into your own coffin. What is one difference between a union carpenter and a non-union carpenter? The non-union carpenter will stop a plumb bob.

We’re the UNION! Do what we say or we’ll disrupt your economy!

The PLA provides equity, assure-ability, and the broadest of social balance to the community of interest parties involved in the development of commerce oriented ventures.
It is a misconception that PLA’s are either discriminatory or in any manner a bar against commercial interests since it is and never has been a tool for the evolution of commerce. It is however a means through which many social agenda’s are achieved such as raising the level of pay for workers, making certain that contractors treat their workers with dignity and respect, that contractors do not leave a community worse off than before they arrived, and that both sides are considered equal when negotiating the terms & conditions of the contract they ultimately will have to work under and respect.

Thank God, there are PLA’s or have many who oppose them simply wanting to do as we have seen lately with our stimulus funds taken millions in bonuses while leaving millions of workers behind.

Here we go again, communism at its best. Isn’t it all in the name of equality and when one group gets shafted we just look the other way. I have worked in unions and personally got fed up with the bureaucracy of it all. Like George Orwell predicted, it’s the hogs telling the farm what to do.

Shiprack is wrong. He claims that nonunion contractors like project labor agreements (PLAs) after they try them. The sad fact is PLAs discriminate against the nonunion contractors and employees.

He states that a nonunion subcontractor would be forced to use union hall labor instead of his or her own employees, some who may have been working for the company for years.

Where does that leave the nonunion worker?

Further, on these government construction projects that are funded by taxpayer dollars, the taxpaying, nonunion worker is barred from working on a project that his tax dollars are helping to pay for.
