I would encourage architects, engineers, landscape architects, etc., and the people who work in their offices to contact our elected representatives at all levels (federal, state, local) with a strong message that additional stimulus/job creation dollars need to come to Oregon to be spent on infrastructure and “bricks and mortar” building projects. I am also cautiously optimistic that more public projects will shore up the 2010 workload for local design and construction firms. However, if we do not get additional public money at all levels, our situation could become even more difficult than it has been in 2009. Call and email our Senators and other elected representatives with a strong message that spending on infrastructure and renovation/building projects needs to be prioritized in Oregon!
