Steve,

I have a call in to the Oregon Department of Energy to find out more specific information about the EV tax credit. I know that the $1,500 tax credit for purchasing a new gasoline-electric hybrid vehicles expired on Jan. 1, 2010. The DOE website says the credit will still be available for next generation plug-in hybrids, but it doesn’t give any specific information. I will post here once I know more.

Does the $1,500. tax credit for the purchase of an electric vehicle include NEVs or SLVs? Do the electric vehicles have to be assembled or manufactured in the US?
