Under the classification requirements it states that a company must be “owned by a minority” which reads in reverse as anyone except caucaission owned companies should apply. In reverse it also states that although a caucassion owned company which employs minorities (most with high levels of minorities) should not apply because the owner himself is not considered a minority. Thus restricting this caucaission owner and his minority employees from the right to work on government projects and earn a living.

This is in alignment with the racial quotas required by the BEE Organization The Employment Equity Act and the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Act The term “black economic empowerment” is somewhat of a misnomer, therefore, because the acts cover empowerment of any member of the designated groups, regardless of race. However, government’s employment legislation reserves 80% of new jobs for black people and favours black-owned companies.[25] It is quota-based, with specific required outcomes.

In 2008, the High Court in South Africa has ruled that Chinese South Africans are to be reclassified as black people. As a result of this ruling, ethnically Chinese citizens will be able to benefit from government Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) policies.[26]

Either way it’s wrong. The bottom line is the need for a quality education so that all people are competitive for the same work. Work should never be distributed based on skin color or sex over experience.
