The above glib garbage doesn’t address the miles of ODOT red tape the city and developer are embroiled in or the fact that taxpayers and even a city councilman are FURIOUS about stuffing in more people in apts instead of bringing needed jobs – that was the point of the idiotic waiver, to BRING JOBS, NOT MORE PEOPLE.

Molalla is run from behind the scenes by greedy good ole boy land speculators who don’t give a hoot about quality of life.

The city has a joke of a “plannin’ dude, a local yokel with ZERO TRAINING IN PLANNING. People run the other way so fast it makes your head spin when they are forced to “deal” with the “planin’ dude” . He is a mess – all about signage rules and color palettes and nothing to do with competent planning. That shows big time – just drive through the treeless and ill planned neighborhoods. It is a text book case of how NOT TO DEVELOP A CITY. Molalla will pay for having this “plannin’ dude” for years and year to come.

As usual, Atkins has failed to tell the whole story. This “development” is embroiled in a mess with ODOT that will be expensive and complex to resolve. It is FAR FROM A DONE DEAL. Molalla has spent years on a Ground Hog Day Comp plan that is legally indefensible. The County is holding its nose, waiting for the nasty plans to waste more taxpayer money to reject. Meanwhile, the city pretends to operate with the new “plans” – wait till they violate the state and county rules and get caught – don’t be a developer who thinks the “plans” are solid, because they are not.

So, if you wish to throw your money away on “investment” in a SHRINKING EX-TIMBER BASED CRUMBLING TOWN FILLED WITH BAD INFRASTRUCTURE AND ANGRY CITIZENS, by all means come to Molalla, Then you too can have the “pleasure” of seeing backwater, hillbilly “government” at “work” – with clueless “leaders” who do not care (and don’t even understand) sound planning is essential to the future of a good city. And you too can see your “investment” shrink to nothing just like the unfortunate ANGRY citizens of Molalla.

Sorry “investors” – it takes SDCs to keep cities even remotely functioning – and Molalla has failed miserably on quality of life issues like parks and roads. Sure, it is really cute to entice “development” by making your city the CHEAPEST AROUND – but sadly, when you do that you end up with a CHEAP AND UGLY CITY, JUST LIKE MOLALLA!

Well I’m so happy to see that it will “pencil” out and put money in your pocket at the expense of all the taxpayers in Molalla. The SDC moritorium was supposed to bring JOBS. Commercial and Industrial development, and what are we getting?, More people

Those extra fee’s are probably going straight into the city managers pocket for letting the development proceed.
