If there is no other option, I would rather see the tenants of Bridgeview stay at Bridgeview rather than living on the street, but I do not like the constant drug dealing, and new visitors who bring crazy behavior to my neighborhood that the Bridgeview Apartment causes.

As far as I know, none ot the tenants are working, and Innovative Housing can not figure out a way of making the property more of a mixed income residence instead of zero income. They say it is impossible because of their loan terms. I have talked to some residents who were working who left because of the noise and behavior of other tenants.

The Bridgeview has added security cameras and lights, but the tenants go a block away to do their drug deals. Because of the Bridgeview’s isolated location, this makes it difficult for neighbors to report to Innovative Housing problems being caused.

IH reports that they are doing a much better job, but no one knows by what standards. I was attending the neighborhood meetings, but lost trust in the process after hearing the same things from IH over and over. Unfortunately, many of my neighbors feel the same way and do to not trust IH.

99% of the work IH does is probably thankless work providing an invaluable service to the community which goes unrecognized. I wish they had not pigeon holed themeselves with the Bridgeview in creating an isolated environment with the most at risk population.
