Taxpayers are getting wise to the TIF ponzi scheme too.

Realizing that all of the revenue to retire the UR debt had to come from the existing revenue streams for basic services for decades.

And the hole left by the taking has to be filled with higher or new fees and taxes.

Oregon’s system of urban renewal takes funding away from counties, school districts and other local tax jurisdictions. Those groups are finally waking up and demanding that they be at the table when urban renewal decisions are being made. The City of Eugene must work with Lane County and get their okay on project priorities before proceeding, or they’ll end up with problems later.
