The people of the State of Oregon should welcome the entry of ICTSI. The company is one of the best manaaged global port operators with the technical and marketing expertise to bring more ships and cargoes to the Port of Portland.

Good question, Laura. I believe 70 percent of the ports along the west coast are operated by foreign companies. Ports America, the company that currently manages the port operation is a U.S. based firm that has a majority of domestic port operation work not being handled by foreign firms. The Port of Portland liked the deal with ICTSI more. I think one of the reasons is that the shipping industry is a global game. The U.S. is so import heavy having a global reach can be financially beneficial for terminals. That would be my guess. ICTSI has operations set up in Asia and South America, the two most lucritive exporters. If the company can get more lines from those two continents directed here, it will be really nice for Portland.
