Did anyone know that the test button on a co alarm only tests the battery to the buzzer !!!! it does not test the sensor which is the life critica component. from jan 2012 the NFPA have said that all co alarms must be tested with an external source of test gas. i have found one and its called DETECTAGAS – and it works. very simpl and very safe.
