From boutique hotel to “creative” tenants. Another failed project where developers operating on ignorance determined to go where others (with good business sense) fail to go. Well at least it is not a hole in the ground like Park West.

The developer puts form over substance when according to an Oregonian article: “. . . they see the building’s unique look, with a bold facade of angular glass and precast concrete panels, as a beacon for creative-industry workers.” Of course – that is an after thought. Pursing LEED certification and PDC urban renewal dollars doesn’t find tenants. $500k from PDC is, in a sense, chump change. Businesses however categorized are still businesses that have a bottom line.

Weave Building stalled, thats almost a surprise

What an ugly toilet of a building. And the developer wonders why he can’t find suckers to rent there.
