As you have retold the story – this hole in ground for many months now has the lead on other projects? And sitting there empty seems to have produced benefits? Maybe Park West is the new business model for development.

And for something completely different – the Stole Rives “lease” has taken on a touch of realism despite PDC’s determination (when they considered moving into Park West) that lease was more of a “lease.”

Not only is it an eyesore, it is a financial loss for the city and developer not likely ever to be recouped. Mr. Moyer made a large mistake in starting the project without the appropriate pre-leasing and financing. Because he has been successful in the past, arguably when money alone would make a successful project, his and his company’s failures have been ignored and rationalized.

We will never know, mostly because there will be no analysis by the media, whether but for the recession the project would have been successful. The media has taken the easy route by assuming the recession is the cause of all business failures.
