Mr. Higgins should visit the widening project along highway 217 between Walker Rd. and highway 26. Construction crews are carving away large outcrops of basalt to make room for new lanes.

Buses replaced streetcars and rail transit decades ago because they were much more cost effective.

Some lessons are never learned when your spending someone else s money.

Tri-met users only pay 20%of operating cost and none of the capital construction.
The model is unsustainable.

Even with all the subsidies to transit, only about 2.1 % of the trips in the Metro area are on transit.

And yes, there are tracks already in place – and a tunnel in one section – for the streetcar.

They run from downtown LO and end at South Waterfront, just feet from the existing Streetcar line.

Oh – and don’t forget to let everyone know how easy Lake Oswego will suddenly become to all sorts of people that love to commit crimes whereever they go on public transit.
