I put in an offer on 4/21/10 to purchase a short sale property but still waiting for an approval from the bank. As long as I close on this property by 9/30/10, will I qualify for the credit? Not sure what it means by “under contract”. Sounds like both parties (buyer/seller) needs to sign to be “under contract”?

The extention of the credit may not draw more buyers to the market but it was due unto those who had already made the deadline and due to circumstance beyond their control they weren’t able to close before the June 30th deadline. But I know that the monies will boost other sectors of the economy such as home furnishing, home improvement etc.
