I am sure it will set the trend for upgrading the entire area, which is usually what happens with urban renewal in other cities.”

DM’s fascination with big buildings, or “Ideal Orgs”, has wasted hundreds of millions of dollars of Scientologists’ donations to forward an entirely off-policy action. HCO PL 12 Mar 75 THE IDEAL ORG (Hubbard’s Ideal Org policy letter) says nothing about big buildings and posh quarters. A plethora of LRH Policy condemns Miscavige’s “straight up and vertical” method of building an org. Subsidies, particularly those extracted from the public under pressure, to build posh quarters are strictly forbidden by Hubbard policy.

LRH advised that orgs be built from the bottom up by the elbow grease of local Scientologists, flanked by international management broad public promotion campaigns, growing their quarters only as they expand their delivery and income.

Regardless of the poshness of their quarters, these “Ideal Orgs” are doomed to failure because Miscavige has for years forcibly prevented Scientology management from implementing LRH-advised pricing formulas to make Scientology affordable to working people (see ), org finance systems that encourage orgs to survive and expand, and staff pay systems that make it viable for upstats to work on staff.

“We own a tremendous amount of property. We own a tremendous amount of material, and so forth. And it keeps growing. But that’s not important. When buildings get important to us, for God’s sake, some of you born revolutionists, will you please blow up central headquarters. If someone had put some H.E. (high explosives) under the Vatican long ago, Catholicism might still be going. Don’t get interested in real estate. Don’t get interested in the masses of buildings, because that’s not important. What is important is how much service you can give the world and how much you can get done and how much better you can make things. These are important things. These are all that are important. A bank account never measured the worth of a man. His ability to help measured his worth and that’s all. A bank account can assist one to help but where it ceases to do that it becomes useless.” — LRH, from the lecture THE GENUS OF DIANETICS AND SCIENTOLOGY, 31 Dec 1960

“The way to spoil an org image is of course to subdue or kill what successful Scientology orgs have always been noted for – a happy, friendly, busy atmosphere.” LRH, HCO PL 11 Dec 1969R APPEARANCES IN PUBLIC DIVS

“The atmosphere of Scientology is a lot more important than new buildings or modern furniture.” — LRH, HCO PL 27 Dec 1963 THE “MAGIC” OF GOOD MANAGEMENT.

TWTH is the basis of the Happiness Rundown, a step on the CoS’s “Bridge to Total Freedom”. It absolutely IS about “what is in the pamphlet” (at least to a Scientologist). Read HCOB 16 January 1984RA Issue I HRD Series 1RA The Happiness Rundown, where LRH explains why he wrote it, what it’s used for, and how it compares to older moral codes.

Yes, they do a GREAT job taking years to restore their empty buildings, reneging on contracts and accruing fines from city governments for taking forever. Then, when after they’ve used their slave labor, the SeaOrg, to do all the work rather than employing local contractors and businesses (thus in no way contributing to the economy), the buildings remain empty except for the staff and SeaOrg who are shuttled from location to location to make it APPEAR busy.

Jeanne, you have absolutely no idea of how to properly effect gentrification within a community, nor do you even possess the understanding of what effects gentrification has upon the population. It’s not a simple matter of restoring one building, but a massive undertaking by the community as a whole that requires huge investments and commitment by the populace. Since your organization is entirely opposed to the notion of charity, I don’t foresee that happening. Especially since historical evidence points to no gentrification occuring as a result of your organization’s presence, anywhere in the US. In fact, downtown Clearwater, FL has actually SUFFERED from your presence.

Good to know you and the management of your cult never stepped foot inside a classroom past high school. Why don’t you take a few undergraduate college courses on sociology and urban planning before trying to claim to be experts in those fields?

They do so by trampling on basic human rights, coercing employees (e.g., Sea Org) into having abortions, and convincing people that they should hand virtually all of their money over to Scientology.

What’s it going to take for you to figure out that the abuses publicized (again) in the New York Times, CNN and elsewhere this year aren’t fiction–and do not represent the sort of “urban renewal” we want in our communities?

Portland wants real change, not some sort of abusive candyland that L. Ron Hubbard and his sadly deluded followers are peddling.

If I were the strip club owner I would not want a place like that across the road from my business.

I find it fascinating you can’t refute the simple fact that you operate like a business, that you don’t actually do anything charitable, and that’s why your organization is currently under investigation in Australia.

TWTH is nothing but propaganda, regardless of the contents. It isn’t about what is in the pamphlets, it’s about WHY and HOW the pamphlets are used. The goal isn’t to actually make anything better, its to further the agenda of the Church of Scientology: recruit more Scientologists.

Your organization recruits gullible, vulnerable, well-meaning individuals and promise them happiness and success if they’re willing to pay the price. A more metaphorical deal with the devil simply does not exist.

What happens next is your organization then proceeds to slowly milk these people for money with courses, using those very courses to brainwash them and convince them that they must sacrifice everything for the “greatest good” and that only they can “save the planet”. Then you slowly pull them deeper into the organization, first by sacrificing their job and free time by going on staff, and then their entire contact with the outside world by dragging them into the SeaOrg and soon they are entirely dependent upon you.

And that is why so many of the ex-members who’ve spoken out have escape stories. They don’t leave, they escape.

Are they going to give you your pay this week because you diligently tried to “handle” some bad press?

“Look. See what you see, not what someone tells you that you see.”
-So, why do you ignore the falling stats and claim to be “expanding”? Fewer members, fewer public, nonexistant book sales? The Church tells you what you see, and you blindly accept it. Be free, look for yourself at the plethora of information available, and make a judgement for YOURSELF, not off what the Church TELLS YOU.

“What you observe is what you observe. Look at things and life and others directly, not through any cloud of prejudice, curtain of fear or the interpretation of another.”
-See the above. Don’t be afraid of the sec checks, the RPF, the threat of losing your eternity. They are empty threats, filled only with the power you give them. Freedom awaits you when you are willing to THINK FOR YOURSELF.

“Instead of arguing with others, get them to look.” L.Ron Hubbard
We keep trying to make you all look, but like well behaved robots you blindly follow orders. To Anonymous, you are sheep. Unthinking, controlled, sheep.
