Those lobbying efforts pay to put small general contractors OUT OF BUSINESS. How? – simple by assisting re-writing contracting laws so that their highest paid contractors are awarded the biggest and most profitable projects.

Oregon University System is a great example. In 2003 OUS gained controll of all public contracts and have been exempt from the bidding process. NO-BID contracts have been handed out ever since to the same contractors year after year.

OHSU is another great example.

Look at the Oregon Public Contracting Coalition documents and find all of the crooks names that are ripping the competing businesses off.

Robbed the competitors and because there was no VOTE by the general public necessary they just did what they wanted.

3 years ago 50% of Public Construction Contracts were NO-BID by diverting the contract awards from the ORS279c Public Contracting Code.

Today 90% are diverted and are NO-BID and special interest.

Have we forgotten that each business in construction has a diverse employee base already? Why do construction contracts require that the “Owner” is a minority?

Why does the federal government require that 100% of Federal contracts be handed to 11% of the contruction industry.

Politicians you are publicizing that you are creating MORE JOBS when you are actually creating MORE UNEMPLOYMENT and BANKRUPTCIES.

the government needs the 89% to pay for the lion share of the costs and for all of those special interest contracts and NO-BID contracts.

Did I mention that those contracts above are ONLY for UNION COMPANIES and that out of the 155,000,000 million workers in america 137,950,000 are non-union which are paying for the costs of union only contracts and the 15% wage difference when they bid against a non-union company for labor?

Union contracts cost the tax payer at least 10% more on multi-million dollar contracts just for labor.

Taxes increase to cover the cost of government spending. Joe cares whether he has to spend $10M for a building valued at $6M.

You can pay higher costs to union companies but it does not increase the value of the real estate.

It should be required that the general public should be able to vote on these issues as it is the general public paying for the contracts handed to unions and NO-BID construction contracts.

These agreements are forcing Non-Union companies out of business.

Unions are paying politicians to write, support and vote in favor of these Bills. SHAME SHAME SHAME.

No PUBLIC CONSTRUCTION PROJECT SHOULD BE AUTOMATICALLY HANDED TO ANY ENTITY WITHOUT COMPETITION BY ALL EXPERIENCED CONTRACTORS.
