E.g., what percentage of the total project cost was $380k? How much does it affect the profit margin?

In the case of apartments, what real effect is there on the end consumer – the renter? Does he or she paid significantly more for the rent because of the SDC?

The article as well as explained on the city’s website and in the available brochure implies that the money collected is used relative to the project. But that isn’t true – is it? I remember sitting in a neighborhood meeting where someone from the city indicated that SDCs collected on new development in our neighborhood would be used for the city generally.

It might try to play this on a case by case basis, too. In this case, developers will all have to play their violins to the city fathers and mothers. The parks, either real or imagined, will fluctuate to what the developer construction market can bear.
