I’m not a commercial real estate appraiser, but I’d say if the University is getting a lump some payment of $1.46 million for 55-year lease but has to pay $1.4 million for infrastructure that’s not a very good deal for taxpayers.

As a commercial real estate appraiser I would say to the author of this article that perhaps any mention of an appraisal from 2004 is inappropriate, as it is practically irrelevant to today’s values.
