It is too bad the sustainable building needs so much of the taxpayers money to build it.

That is not what I would call sustainable, It’s no wonder we are going broke.

I agree–the designs are awful! I absolutely BEGGED the architects to be bold with the external design. Has no one seen the unbelievable buildings going up in Europe? These designs are an embarrassment.

I agree with Tavin: let’s tap Portland’s incredibly creative folks! I know that the “function” requirements of the building are unbelievably challenging, but that should result in the funkiest possible building that makes people take notice!

Great concept, but why are the designs so timid and ugly? It looks like some 1960s movie-set vision of the future. I recall that UO had a bunch of student architects come up with their own designs for this, and most looked better than this.
Please try again! We have so much talent in this town going to waste.
