Vital cities cannot let such civic facilities fall into disrepair. If not through public funds, then through private funds. There are many deep pockets in those West Hills. To do nothing would be to slide into mediocrity. We need to move ahead and not let the penny-pinching naysayers consign this city to backwaterdom.

Reading up to $40 mil might be lavished on these questionable projects – why that’s enough to build a new public school! Priorities, priorities, priorities.
Meanwhile, PDC is sinking $20 mil into the Portland Coliseum.
By George, there’s $60 mil right there.
Oh sure, different agencies, etc. etc. but local taxpayers are looking at the big picture. We’re connecting the dots…..
Schools should come first, but without expensive bond measures while these kind of luxuries are on the drawing boards.

I find it telling that Ms. Williams makes the statement ” It would also just be nice to get a construction project going during these tough times”. Was she paid by Hoffman Construction to make this statement? And why is she so obviously shilling for them?
