I totally agree with all of you, Bob, Cindy and Mike!

These townhouses are WAY too big, given people’s needs for smaller, far less expensive housing and especially our critical need to reduce our per capita eco-footprint. Like you, I was shocked when I saw the size of these townhouses. And, yes, this developer is getting a lot of credit for making a huge profit on the ashes of this site.

Can we possibly build homes that meet the demands of many who don’t have $100k-plus incomes and don’t need 2000-plus square feet of living space?!? What happened to the concept of urban living and intelligent planning?

I don’t get why this builder is getting attention. He isn’t doing a charity building project. He is planning on making a ton of money from where a church used to sit. Maybe he should do this subdivision as none profit, then maybe it would be a worthwhile story to share

Bob, I am on board with you. Single car garage and 900 to 1200 square feet. Not too much home to maintain and close enough to the city to make them consumer friendly.

Look at some of the small homes being built over on Division, I think one of those units is 625 square feet. And I know the entry price range is less than $100k.

I love the concept of close-in living, but why are these townhouses all so large? I think smaller, two-bedroom homes in the 1,000 SF range would be in great demand. The proposed sizes of 1,600-2,000 SF do not constitute “downsizing” for most people, and neither does a $330,000 price tag.
