I agree Ellen and Brian, the design is a major concern. The MLK/Fremont building is like a lighthouse with a jail, and note that no business has been able to last there. Hope to make the neigh assoc meeting Monday, but thanks for raising your voices on this!

They said the same thing about Tupelo Station and the Miss. lofts…but they went up. I’m personally shocked by the Albert as are most of the people in the neighborhood

The scale of this development is way off for any neighborhood street in NE. Only on MLK are there full block developments with monotonous massing like the Rachel and Albert. Most all developments along Mississippi, Alberta and Williams have broken up the massing within the distance of a full block. This scale is truly ruining the quality of N. Williams.

@Brian Libby I sincerely agree with you, Brian. I wrote the appeal on The Albert Apartments and couldn't have been more disappointed with the Design Review decision made. Design of that quality doesn't belong in this city.

Rumor is that the new building will be similar in design to the recently topped-out “Albert,” and may be named “The Rachel.” Apparently Albert and Rachel were Menashe’s grandparents.
