Comments on: Unions reps protest against R&H Construction

Usually in protests, the employees would be the ones parading their fury. However, this is a group of union representatives protesting “on behalf” of the victimized staff members. I am unsure if there’s any difference in the builder/construction industry, but I have always thought unions are made available to protect and solve such miscommunications between employers and staff. But in this article, since the union itself is protesting, so who will step in to resolve the conflict?

What they don’t tell you is that the people picketing aren’t employees of R and H they are union representatives. If the people working for R and H had a problem they could picket, but the Union should only protect the people that pay dues to them the other workers don’t want there “protection”

When workers hold such protests, it is obvious that there was something that the parent company did not do correctly. They can defend themselves with politically right answers all they want, but if the union groups were doing the right thing, they would be forced to meet the demands of the workers. I think what they need is to have an open discussion.
