The building should have been put on the Historic Register a long time ago. The foundation of the Waverly Baby Home was based on helping those in need. The Waverly Commons will be helping those with money.
I also have serious doubts about the so-called committment to sustainability as the most sustainable and green thing to do would be to reuse the existing building. Sustainability is not just about so-called green building but being mindful of social and economic equality. We are kidding ourselves if we think this is about building a community for anyone but those who can buy their way into it.
