property taxes here are one of the highest in the nation and now you are talking about more hikes, you are going to eventually tax people out of their homes, come on , give us a break. Please figure out a different way. We like oregon to much and would like to continue living here.

Okay, When I read this I knew I had to say something. I happen to be a student at UCC, and perhaps I am the only sstudent who feels this way, but what is UCC thinking? I’m very confused why focus so much on expanding and spending more money on making Umpqua Community College bigger when they could be putting that money to a better use. Such as, more than one (sometimes two) angry receptionist working in the financial aid department. Or more up to date materials for the classes that already exist. Such a waste of money isn’t going to help there students very much. As it is UCC has a 13% graduation rate, how is that going to be imporoved if the people running UCC wish to remain blind to existing problems.
