It would seem to me that housing is more in line with the best interests of Portland than an extended stay hotel, but they are somewhat apples and oranges. Like PMM, I find the whole thing somewhat suspect, in that the same group who let the deal languish (while PDC held the bag) is now being given another chance on the same parcel. If you think financing was tough in 2006, try getting money now.

Not in Portland, no sir: it’s just an amazing coincidence with a favorable outcome for a well connected campaign donor.
