I agree with Shelby. I’ve been a homeowner in Cathedral Park for 15 years and am horrified by the way our neighborhood is being jammed full of rental units that are changing the character of our community. They are ugly and they are destabilizing. (Have you checked the crime stats lately?) Give us a break! We’re trying to build a livable community here. We need quality single family homes, not more and more and more low-income housing and rental properties.

Also, to Andrew De Veux, I can count half a dozen apartment complexes in view while simply walking down Crawford. ‘Few apartment complexes?’ Where do you live?

No thanks to more cheaply-done, cracker jack properties with high vacancy and subletting. The adjacent condos are the perfect example of what St. Johns and Cathedral Park do not need. The area is becoming a haven for run down apartments and multifamily developments.. where does the ‘smart growth’ go in North Portland?
