So the implication is unclear. How will this new station get around the Hawthorne Bridge problem? I think you left out the part about Rescue Boat 21 (the “Eldon Trinity”) and the newer fire boat on order that I believe will also be stationed at 21.

Good summary. I recently attended a Downtown Neighborhood Association Meeting where Fire & Rescue presented the plans for the new station. The changes are going to not only result in a greatly improved station, but the Eastside Esplanade is going to have improvements as well, particularly to the area just north of the station. That will certainly have a positive impact on liveability of the downtown area.
