Not only do we want and need the best of our regional creative talents manifest in significant projects, but also the will and desire to enrich our scope with the best from across the world. The soon to be complete Viking Pavilion is enabling new local talent to show what it can do. Now, SRG has a lot to live up to with its forthcoming 4th and Montgomery building. Let’s keep the horizon of innovation open on campus and not descend back into the complacency of institutional cliches, efficient solutions, and dumb contextualism that seem to be the default for educational institutions that have lost contact with their collective imagination.

Major work remaining includes flooring and finish work, start-up and commissioning of HVAC equipment, and site work. A grand opening is scheduled for Sept. 19, and classes will begin in the building the following week.” You mean functional/system testing is remaining. Commissioning is a process that starts generally starts at project inception and carries through to the warranty phase. Not to be confused with start up.
