(Compared because most of the Power generated is through Coal—41% Globally…………15oo,oooMWs).

· Only Installation costs, No land acquisition for the construction of the Project.

· No Fuel costs.

· No Transportation costs.

· No Internal Power Consumption in the Plant.

(Normally, about 9% and in inefficient power plants 20% or more of the power generated, is used to run the auxiliary power plant equipment).

· No Pollution. No Global Warming.

· No Radio-active fall-out.

(A coal based thermal Power Plant releases more Radio-active material than a Nuclear Power Plant).

· No Fuel Stocks needed. No fear of accidental Fuel burn-out. No Carbon-monoxide poisoning.

No Over-all Fuel losses of 10%.

· No Effluents. No land destruction.

· No Health Hazards.

No Gestation Period. Power Generation starts from the very first unit and the life time could be over 100 years.

Solar PV: A plant of 10,000MWS occupies 400 Sq.Kms or 155 Sq.miles with capacity factor of 20%. Is it really feasible to power the world with this kind of area needed? Besides, with an efficiency of 10 to15%, a 10,000MW plant could radiate several thousand megawatts of heat direcly into the atmosphere.

Wind energy: A wind farm of 10,000MWs, occupies5000 Sq Kms or 1931 Sq miles with a capacity factor of 25%. Is it really feasible to power the world with this form of energy.

can solar and wind energy meet the demand
