As journalists in an industry that needs to evolve here in Oregon, it is absolutely the Journal’s place to report and hopefully promote systemic change. Every industry needs to take a close look at this. Real estate and construction is one of the most important as it offers so many opportunities for entry and advancement – advancement that has been unequal. For one, there are very very few Black-Owned properties in the entire Central City – probably can count them on one hand.
