My mentees are predominantly young professionals of color, and although a strong mentor of any racial/ethnic background can be very beneficial, young professionals of color often benefit from mentors that have had to navigate the white-dominated work culture in similar, specific ways. They’ve experienced seeing less qualified people being promoted ahead of them, or friends of management being brought in to the organization as favor. I would support the 91ÊÓƵ soliciting and publishing an article about the specific situation of employees of color in white-dominated workplace, and survival strategies needed for POC employee success.
