Sadly this massive freeway expansion bridge would basically destroy the community of Hayden Island. Businesses, jobs, and homes lost in the land grab. Six to seven years of disruption to life during building of the bridge. Pollution from heavy equipment. Noise.

There are residents who are low-income, in fact the largest manufactured home park in Oregon is on the island. There are elderly, disabled, and people of color. The lessons of the past where communities have been harmed or destroyed have not been learned. How would the members of the IBRP like a bridge like this right over the top of them? I am pretty sure they would not.
