Marion County is seeking bids for a wide range of construction activities in connection with development of a planned juvenile justice administration building in downtown Salem.

Site plan review of the proposal for a single-story, 20,460-square-foot building was completed by the city of Salem on Wednesday, and the project’s building permit application is now being processed.

The single-floor building will be located at 2960 Center St. N.E., and be part of a complex of state and county facilities in that area, including the Oregon State Hospital and the Marion County Juvenile Detention building. The new administration building will be built just a few yards to the north of the juvenile detention facility at the corner of Center Street and Park Avenue.

The scope of the project will include all infrastructure and utility work on the site, as well as construction of the new building.

According to project documents, the structure will feature a cast-in-place concrete foundation and steel structural framing and steel joist framing. It will have elastomeric membrane roofing to ensure waterproofing.

The project is being designed by Carlson Veit Architects of Salem. Other project team members include: , civil engineering; , structural engineering; Inc., mechanical and electrical engineering; and , landscape architecture.

The project is planned for completion by August 2019.
