The Northwest Environmental Business Council will host Oregon’s Energy Future Conference on May 21 at the Oregon Convention Center.

Like all events, the conference will bring together many stakeholders in the energy industry. Businesspeople, regulators, consultants and others will discuss goals and solutions to common problems.

Panels of experts will discuss cap-and-trade and other current legislative and regulatory issues, power grid modernization and clean transportation.

The two keynote speakers will be: Bill Ritter Jr., former Colorado governor and founder and director of the Center for the New Energy Economy at Colorado State University; and Oriana Magnera, climate and energy policy coordinator at Verde.

The conference will start with networking and breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and wrap up with a reception beginning at 5 p.m.

The Northwest Environmental Business Council‘s next Oregon Energy Breakfast Forum will feature guest speaker Ken Dragoon, who will discuss the production of hydrogen and renewable methane from renewable energy.

Dragoon has been involved in the electric power industry for 35 years. In 2014, he founded , which helps clients make the transition to renewable energy.

The forum will take place Feb. 23, from 7:30 to 9 a.m., in AECOM‘s eighth-floor conference room, at 111 S.W. Columbia St., in Portland.

Registration is $15 for members, or $20 for nonmembers.
