With all the talk about the national outdoors and sporting goods store Cabela’s coming to Oregon City, one local competitor is looking to strengthen its presence as well.

Fisherman’s Marine, an Oregon City-based retailer that offers hunting and fishing supplies as well as camping gear, has leased a new retail space in Tigard. The retailer, which has two other locations in the Portland-metro area, will open its new store at a former CompUSA space at the Cascade Boulevard Center in Tigard, 10407 S.W. Cascade Blvd.

According to a release, the retailer will open the new 26,000-square-foot store in April. In addition to the camping, hunting and fishing supplies, the new location will have an expanded apparel and footwear section.

Fisherman’s Marine operates out of a North Portland location in Delta Park, which opened in 1995, as well as its flagship store in Oregon City, which opened in 1975.
