From an early age, has been interested in building things with his hands. He spent summer breaks during high school working construction and learning the trades. After graduating, he began working in construction full-time.

Over the years, he gained experience as a tradesman, carpenter foreman, superintendent and project manager, all of which gave him knowledge and perspective about how to build a company from the ground up.

Christophersen founded in 2022. Its portfolio includes new construction and renovations, multifamily and residential units, , and commercial, civil and .

Standard also specializes in all aspects of concrete, rough and installation services for doors and hardware, bath and fire accessories and more.

“I like the opportunity to assemble a team of individuals, with guidance and mentorship, whom collaborate as one allows SCC to provide top-tier industry service,” Christophersen said.

initially planned to study graphic design in college, but her parents encouraged her to pursue a more stable field and follow in her dad’s footsteps as a civil engineer.

She gained technical skills and the ability to interact with clients, manage projects and lead a team while working in California. In 2022, she started and runs the Silverton-based company with her husband, Steven Johnson.

“It has always been a dream for my husband and me to have our own business. I reached a point in my career where I felt I had hit a ceiling. Despite the industry’s dynamic nature, I felt I had more to offer and wanted to achieve more in my career. So, I decided to take the leap,” she said.

Johnson enjoys the challenges and variety her work offers, adding, “This job keeps me on my toes!”
