Paving contractor and construction company Co., subsidiaries of WWS Holdings, have sold to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), the companies announced Monday.

For more than 25 years Brix Paving Northwest has delivered paving projects of all sizes and complexities, the company stated in a press release. Brix has completed work on residential driveways, interstates, and parking lots.

“Selling the company to our employees through an ESOP was a natural choice,” Brix President Billy Stimpson stated in the press release. “Our employees have been instrumental in our success, and this transition allows them to take ownership of the company and shape its future.”

Since its establishment in 1995, Roger Langeliers Construction has specialized in concrete placement, finishing, sawing, and joint sealing for residential and commercial projects, according to the press release.

“Becoming an employee-owned company honors my father Roger Langeliers’ legacy,” Roger Langeliers Construction Co. President Web Langeliers stated. “As previous owners, we are proud to reward the employees who have contributed to the company’s success and uphold Roger’s standards of excellence.”

There are no leadership changes, Brix spokesperson Taylor Anders and Roger Langeliers director of human services Ashley King stated in emails. With the two companies now 100 percent owned by their employees, all those at Brix or RLC are now part owners. The two companies now are overseen by a board that consists of the three previous owners, the ESOP trustee and an outside consultant. The ESOP trustee and the outside consultant provide checks and balances to ensure proper business practices, finances, and fair treatment of employees, Anders stated.
