Core Spaces, a Chicago-based developer known for upscale student housing, has chosen Portland as the next market it intends to impact.

To that end, the firm is developing , a 15-story, 417-unit luxury residential tower currently under on a full block site marked by the intersection of Southwest Fourth Avenue and Harrison Street on the Portland State University campus. When completed in late 2019, the building will include ground floor retail space, potentially a rumored grocery store, while the residential units will have an array of amenities suited for young urban professionals. The general contractor on the job is John Hyland Construction of Springfield.

The 19-story Broadway Tower will soon offer Portland a unique mix of hotel and office space in a single building. It features eight stories of hotel rooms and another 10 floors of office space topped with a penthouse and communal space on the 19th story. Built by BPM Development and general contractor Howard S. Wright Construction, A Balfour Beatty Company, the building will host law firms, as well as tech giant Amazon. 91视频 photographers toured the job site this week, and the video below will show you a glimpse of what they saw. The O’Neill-Walsh Community Builders partnership is the general contractor on the fast-rising Grand Avenue Apartments, the largest single-building project in since 1969. The developer and owner, , is Multnomah County’s public housing authority. Home Forward also operates the 14-story, 286-unit Hollywood East tower block in northeast Portland, which opened in 1969 amid a boom in public housing .

In this , Project Manager Meghan Herteg talks about the Grand Avenue project, which does not yet have an official name, as well as about project participants, which include KPFF Consulting Engineers, Lever Architecture and LRS Architects and numerous subcontractors. Finally, Herteg addresses the company’s reputation for involving itself in affordable housing and other projects that benefit the wider community.

The $315 million Multnomah County Courthouse project being undertaken by general contractor Hoffman Construction was given a recent burst of color in the form of an elaborate mural adorning one of the job site’s pedestrian walkways. Featuring 86 separate portraits representing jurors awaiting their duty in a courtroom, the mural was designed and carried out by students and staff at Portland’s King School Museum of Contemporary Art. Led by artist Ralph Pugay, the project was dedicated last Thursday during a brief ceremony inside the pedestrian tunnel. In this short video, Pugay explains the design and theme behind the mural. The new Multnomah County Courthouse project is steadily climbing, floor by floor, as general contractor Hoffman Construction works on the planned $315 million, 17-story replacement for the existing courthouse on Southwest Fourth Avenue.

Hoffman recently hosted a tour of the construction site as part of the workforce development event Industry for a Day, which has been held the past three years by nonprofit group All Hands Raised. Below, a short video will give you a quick look inside the project.

Crews with demolished the old Our Lady of the Lake school in downtown . The is the third and final phase of an update to the school, which was started by general contractor in 2010 and included the of a new 54,550-square-foot school building designed by . Following the demolition, the space will be used for a canopy leading into the new building and a landscaped plaza and parking turnaround. Work is expected to be completed in October.
