Construction has begun on Scholls Heights, a new residential development in west Beaverton.

Scholls Heights will include 17 single-family homes in the first phase. Prices will start “in the $700,000s,” according to a news release from home builder Pacific Lifestyle Homes.

Floor plans range from 1,600 square feet to 2,400 square feet, with two to four bedrooms and two to three bathrooms.�� Buyers can choose from single-level designs or two-story plans.

“We are thrilled to open Scholls Heights,” stated Mark Kesling, sales operations manager for Pacific Lifestyle Homes. “We have been anxiously awaiting the debut of several Oregon neighborhoods and we feel this will be a popular one. The location is fantastic with so many shopping and recreation and entertainment options.”

Scholls Heights is located at 12516 Strobel Road in Beaverton. The neighborhood is near Southwest Scholls Ferry Road, which provides access to Oregon Route 217. The property is within Beaverton School District, and feeds into Hazeldale Elementary School, Highland Park Middle School and Mountainside High School.

Pacific Lifestyle Homes was founded in Vancouver, Washington, in 1996 and operates in the Portland-metro area, Southwest Washington and the Puget Sound area.

The new development comes as home prices continue to rise steeply in Washington County and across the nation. The median price for homes in Beaverton-Aloha that sold in January and February was $517,000, according to RMLS. The average market time of 20 days was among the lowest in the metro area.

Washington County saw a small population increase in the most recent year ending July 1, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Washington County gained 122 residents, while Multnomah County lost 12,494 residents.

Homebuilder Pacific Lifestyle Homes has broken ground on its newest neighborhood, Amberglen, in the Salmon Creek area of Vancouver, Washington.

Amberglen features 60 residential lots ranging in size from 5,000 to 7,500 square feet. Floor plans will range from 1,814 to 3,756 square feet, with single-level or multilevel designs available.

All homes in the neighborhood will feature 9-foot-tall ceilings on the first floor, “Smart Home” technology, granite slab countertops, stainless steel appliances, hand-scraped or smooth-plank hardwood floors, tile bathroom floors in the master suite, USB wall chargers and more.

Amberglen will be served by the Battle Ground Public Schools. When completed, the first model home will be located at 6701 N.E. 119th St. in Vancouver.

Homes will be priced starting in the $400,000s, with a grand opening expected in early 2019.

Pacific Lifestyle Homes, a homebuilder based in Vancouver, Washington, recently completed a new Community Giving House to benefit four local children’s charities.

The Community Giving House program is the brainchild of Kevin and Nikki Wann, who opened Pacific Lifestyles Homes in 1996. The couple has been active in children’s charities for more than a decade, but sought to take on some atypical fundraising. The Wanns last year decided to start something tied to its homebuilding.

By working with its vendors and trade partners, Pacific Lifestyle Homes started the Community Giving House program with the goal of using proceeds from houses built through the program to benefit local children’s charities.

The latest Community Giving House, the fourth built through the program, recently sold for $615,900. Since program inception, more than $100,000 has been donated to groups that include the Children’s Justice Center in Clark County, Washington; Innovative Services NW in Vancouver, Washington; and Transitional Youth in Beaverton.
