Kelly Chanopas of ZGF Architects has 22 years of experience in the profession. She currently serves as a board member for NOMA PDX and co-chair of the Architecture for Health Committee, focusing her practice on health care design and collaborative research initiatives.

Chanopas has advanced equity and inclusion within the architecture industry, having chaired AIA Oregon鈥檚 Committee on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion since 2019 after initially serving as vice-chair when it was founded in 2018. She has mentored emerging professionals through project work and professional organizations, helping them develop leadership skills and advance their careers. Chanopas explained that her leadership philosophy centers on collaboration, authenticity and adaptability, with curiosity and continual learning driving her work.

At ZGF, she has contributed to applied research in circadian lighting and health care design, working with interdisciplinary teams on projects including neonatal intensive care unit environments. She has moderated industry symposiums addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion topics within architecture.
