Allison Tivnon, founder of AEC Pursuit Strategies, has spent 17 years building expertise in marketing and business development for architecture, engineering, and construction firms. Beginning her career during the Great Recession, she observed how consulting firms reduced marketing resources during economic downturns, recognizing an opportunity to elevate marketing’s strategic value within building industry organizations.
Tivnon addressed this gap through national presentations for organizations including the American Council of Engineering Companies and the Society for Marketing Professional Services. In 2020, she published “Marketing at Low Tide: How to Recession-Proof Your Marketing Department,” which has influenced how AEC marketers and business leaders across the United States perceive marketing’s role in organizational resilience.
In 2024, Tivnon founded AEC Pursuit Strategies through which she helps clients identify root causes of business challenges via exploratory consultations. Her approach emphasizes understanding client needs at a fundamental level rather than addressing surface symptoms.
Tivnon serves as city councilor for the city of Beaverton and holds board positions with the Beaverton Urban Renewal Agency and Oregon Metro Policy Advisory Committee. She is a member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services’ Oregon chapter.
