Chris Nelson, a Capstone Partners LLC principal, co-founded the diversified real estate development business in October 2002. He now has more than 36 years of industry experience. Nelson has guided the company through multiple market cycles, establishing a track record of resilience and growth.

Nelson serves as partner with Social Venture Partners in Portland and holds positions on the investment committee for the 1803 Fund and the advisory board for ULI Northwest’s Portland District Council. He is also a member of Bull Run Center, a civic engagement organization in Portland.

Nelson explained his business philosophy centers on excellence and continuous improvement. He noted the importance of doing things better than before, eliminating errors and anticipating requirements. His approach emphasizes acting from reason, mastering circumstances and accepting nothing short of perfection.
