Dan Brown serves as CEO of Cascade Energy LLC. He has worked for 27 years in the energy efficiency sector and in 2021 assumed the CEO role following the retirement of Cascade’s co-founder. Brown led the company through a transition to 100 percent employee ownership 鈥� the first leadership and ownership change in the organization鈥檚 history.

With engineering training, Brown has focused on building organizational resilience while expanding the company鈥檚 environmental impact. He explained his leadership approach centers on three principles: leading with empathy and courage, listening deeply to diverse perspectives, and balancing present performance with future growth.

Brown serves as a regent on the board of regents at the University of Portland and remains active with the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy as a sponsor, supporter and speaker. He also volunteers as a youth mountain biking coach with the Oregon Interscholastic Cycling League and maintains membership in the Association of Energy Engineers.

Cindy Crane developed an extensive career at PacifiCorp between 1990 and 2014, serving in multiple senior roles and providing leadership in the development of the company鈥檚 traditional and renewable energy strategies, including completion of five Wyoming wind projects.

For the next four years, she served as president of Rocky Mountain Power, overseeing the delivery of electric service to 1.2 million customers in the Intermountain West. She transitioned from PacifiCorp in 2018 to Enchant Energy Corporation, an emerging environmental services company focused on carbon capture and storage for industry and communities.

Crane returned to PacifiCorp to become CEO in 2023. Then, in November, she began serving as chair of its board of directors. As such, she offers her experience and strategic direction to PacifiCorp鈥檚 leadership team, emphasizing initiatives aimed at stabilizing wildfire risks.

Crane remains executive board chair of Enchant Energy Corporation. She also serves as the chair of the University of Wyoming鈥檚 School of Energy Resources, which is dedicated to energy-driven economic development for the state of Wyoming.

Ryan Flynn is responsible for regional strategy and engagement, and leads customer, community and government affairs for Pacific Power, which serves more than 800,000 customers in Oregon, Washington and California.

Flynn joined PacifiCorp in 2006, holding various positions in the legal department before leaving in 2015 to pursue a family opportunity in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He returned to the company in 2018 and served as senior vice president and chief legal officer for Pacific Power. He also was responsible for the legal, communications and government affairs teams.

A native of Corvallis, Flynn received his bachelor鈥檚 degree from Willamette University and his law degree from George Washington University. He previously worked as a congressional staffer, and as a lawyer in Seattle and Washington, D.C.

Flynn currently serves on the executive committee of the Portland Metro Chamber and the board of the Oregon Business Council. He was a longtime board member for the Dougy Center. He is also a former OMSI board member.

ESS Tech鈥檚 interim CEO is Kelly Fennerty Goodman. She has spent two decades advancing clean energy storage technology through strategic business leadership. At ESS Tech, she navigated challenging market conditions while securing critical capital to advance the company鈥檚 iron flow battery technology toward commercial production.

Her career philosophy centers on collaborative negotiation rather than adversarial positioning. Early in her legal career, a mentor taught her that effective commercial negotiators enter discussions to listen, identifying solutions that serve all parties鈥� needs.

Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Goodman maintains active community involvement through National Charity League alongside her daughter. She dedicates volunteer time to NW Children鈥檚 Outreach and Special Olympics Oregon, while coaching youth soccer and track teams. She also serves on the MAC Ski & Snowboard Committee.

Goodman credits her success to decisive action and avoiding procrastination. She has balanced demanding professional responsibilities with raising two children, demonstrating commitment to both career advancement and family obligations throughout her tenure in the renewable energy sector.

Sheldon Kimber has been a builder, leader and innovator in energy and infrastructure throughout his career. His leadership, experience and understanding of energy and financial markets have been a key part of building multiple startups into some of the largest companies in their respective industries.

Under Kimber, Intersect has developed and built and now operates more than $4 billion of electric generation and energy storage assets. Currently, the company is constructing $9 billion of additional energy and digital infrastructure that will be online by the end of 2027.

Before founding Intersect, Kimber served as chief operating officer of Recurrent Energy, helping to build the company from an early-stage startup to a market leadership position in North America. During his tenure, Recurrent successfully developed more than two gigawatts of electric generation across the U.S. and Canada.

Kimber is an active member of several nonprofit boards and an angel investor and advisor within the clean energy sector. He holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in economics from Kenyon College and an MBA from UC Berkeley鈥檚 Haas School of Business.

Maria Pope joined PGE in 2009 as chief financial officer and treasurer. She led the company鈥檚 power generation facilities, wholesale power marketing and long-term resource strategy as senior vice president of power supply, operations and resource strategy.

Under her leadership, PGE has accelerated its transition to a clear energy future by adding new wind, solar and battery storage and strengthening the energy grid by integrating new technologies. PGE has the largest voluntary renewable energy program in the country and was ranked first in the 2024 Forrester U.S. Customer Experience Index.

Pope has two decades of board experience across diverse sectors. She is the board chair of Columbia Banking System and the former chair of the Edison Electric Institute. She formerly served on the U.S. Secretary of Energy Advisory Board and as prior chair of the Electric Power Research Institute.

Prior to joining PGE, Pope was CFO of Mentor Graphics Corp. She has held senior operating and finance positions in the technology, forest products and consumer products industries. She began her career in banking with Morgan Stanley.
