Peter Andrews, chief operating officer of Melvin Mark Companies, has led transformative projects including 2&Taylor and 250Taylor that shaped Portland鈥檚 skyline while fostering economic growth and vibrant communities. His leadership has consistently delivered value through the company鈥檚 commitment to stewardship and integrity, building lasting partnerships across the city.

Andrews centers his leadership philosophy on service, trust and collaboration, empowering his team to innovate while prioritizing client needs. Under his guidance, Melvin Mark has maintained its commitment to strengthening Portland鈥檚 community, values that have guided the 80-year-old company鈥檚 operations.

He actively contributes to Portland鈥檚 business and real estate sectors through involvement with the Portland Metro Chamber, Urban Land Institute, Sport Oregon and PSU Center for Real Estate. Through these partnerships, Andrews shapes policy, mentors emerging leaders and champions initiatives that strengthen the city.

Andrews explained his approach reflects a deep commitment to Portland鈥檚 future, ensuring the city remains a thriving place to live and work while helping clients succeed.

Over a career spanning more than 25 years, Robert Ball has become one of Portland鈥檚 most successful real estate investors. He鈥檚 also a developer, manager and owner. His expertise includes land planning, entitlement processing, market and feasibility analysis, design and construction, and the essential operational components of real estate investment.

Ball handles acquisitions, property analyses, development profitability forecasts, acquisition feasibility analyses, market condition evaluations, property due diligence, and overall project and real estate product concepts. He has created large-scale projects along with the formation of real estate development, sales and management companies.

A volunteer reserve police officer for the Portland Police Bureau, Ball holds the rank of commander and was awarded a police medal for valor and two Distinguished Service Awards from the Oregon Peace Officers Association, among other commendations and citations.

In addition, Ball has served on Portland鈥檚 Charter Commission, several nonprofit boards, and has been active in civic, neighborhood and community projects.

Jeff Barber has worked in the real estate industry for 30 years and has extensive experience in client and tenant relations, management, lease administration, strategic planning, development, operations, project management, construction, marketing and budgeting.

As regional vice president for JLL in the U.S. West and Hawaii markets, Barber maintains a primary focus to assist owners in developing profitable real estate strategies linked to their business objectives. He also directs a team of property management professionals to meet the operational goals of each asset. He provides guidance in areas such as strategic planning, marketing and managing capital improvement programs.

Prior to joining JLL, Barber held multiple senior management positions with companies such as Homart Development, General Growth Properties, Schroder Real Estate, and Lendlease.

Barber is an International Council of Shopping Centers member, and has a Certified Marketing Director designation and a Certified Shopping Center Manager designation from the organization. He is a licensed real estate salesperson and broker in Oregon, and he holds degrees from Ricks College and Brigham Young University.

Tom Brenneke鈥檚 founding of Guardian Real Estate Services in 2002 and building it into one of the Northwest鈥檚 leading multifamily real estate platforms is his greatest professional achievement so far.

The firm鈥檚 management portfolio spans Oregon, Washington, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. It manages more than 14,000 apartments and operates a fully integrated investment, development and management business. The company is a leader in affordable housing and also executes large-scale, market-rate investments.

Leadership, Brenneke noted, is about clarity, accountability and execution. 鈥淚 believe in setting direction, empowering strong people and maintaining momentum. I鈥檓 driven by building teams and organizations that perform at a high level and create long-term value for everyone involved.鈥�

Brenneke supports Catholic education philanthropy and community initiatives that strengthen housing and opportunity across the Northwest. He is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council and serves on its Workforce Housing Committee.

Craig R. Cheek has spent more than 35 years building a distinguished career in the sports industry. As a senior leader at Nike, Cheek led the U.S. Footwear division to unprecedented growth; his team generated over $1 billion in new revenue during a 36-month period when industry analysts believed the company鈥檚 market share had peaked. Under his leadership, seven members of his direct team earned promotions to vice president based on their breakthrough results.

Currently, Cheek serves as president of the Portland Diamond Project, continuing his work in professional sports. Throughout his career, he has maintained a leadership philosophy centered on influence rather than title, emphasizing servant leadership and continuous learning. 鈥淟eadership influence is earned through consistent actions, building trust, and inspiring others,鈥� Cheek explained.

He has served on multiple boards over the years, focusing on youth development and support of underserved communities. Cheek and his wife actively support faith-based nonprofits working locally and internationally.

Jordan Elliott, principal at NAI Elliott, has spent nine years helping evolve the 40-year-old family commercial real estate business in Portland. Working alongside his parents, Elliott has focused on modernizing the firm鈥檚 operations to serve next-generation clients while responding to market challenges and opportunities in Portland鈥檚 commercial real estate sector.
