The Hood River County School District is seeking a general contractor to tackle renovations of both Parkdale and Westside elementary schools.

A nonmandatory pre-bid meeting and site tour is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Nov. 28, at the district’s administration building, 1111 Eugene St. in Hood River. Formal bids must be submitted no later than 2 p.m. on Dec. 18.

In addition to renovations of two separate school buildings, the project includes construction of a play structure and other amenities. Work on some elements will start as soon as January, with project completion tentatively scheduled for August 2019, in time for the start of the 2019-20 school year.

is designing both school renovations, as well as a host of other projects being paid for with money from a $57.1 million bond measure approved by voters in 2016. Pendleton-based is providing construction management services for the district’s bond projects.

District officials estimate that the combined construction cost for both renovations will run between $4 million and $5 million.

The Corvallis School District is seeking bids from firms interested in performing construction manager-general contractor services for projects originating from a $199.9 million bond measure passed by voters in May.

The includes replacement of two aging elementary schools as well as expansion and modernization of all other schools in the district. The planning and design process is under way for the projects that will be built by the firm awarded the CM-GC contract.

The district has grouped bond improvements into three packages.

Package A includes Lincoln and Hoover elementary school replacements and is not included in the scope of this RFP.

Package B includes improvements at Garfield Elementary, Wilson Elementary, Mountain View Elementary, Adams Elementary, Franklin K-8, Jefferson Elementary and Muddy Creek K-5.

Package C includes improvements at Linus Pauling Middle School, Crescent Valley High School, Harding Center, Corvallis High School and Cheldelin Middle School.

The contract period is expected to begin immediately upon selection and extend through completion and close-out of the projects in 2021. The school district has selected Inc., as project manager, as the architect for packages A and B, and as the architect for package C.

Sealed bid proposals will be accepted by the district until 3 p.m. on Nov. 29.
