John DiLorenzo of Davis Wright Tremaine has 45 years of experience holding government accountable and advocating for rural communities, housing providers, and taxpayers. In 2019, he led a trial team that secured Oregon鈥檚 largest jury verdict 鈥 $1.66 billion 鈥 on behalf of 160 rural governments against the state of Oregon in Linn County v. Board of Forestry. In 2018, his team recovered more than $10 million for Portland water and sewer ratepayers in Anderson v. Portland. Recently, he obtained a settlement requiring Portland to commit $20 million to keep sidewalks accessible for residents with disabilities in Tozer v. City of Portland.

DiLorenzo authored landmark legislation including Oregon Administrative Law fairness reforms and the Environmental Cleanup Assistance Act in 1999. He has represented industry groups including Multifamily NW, More Housing Now, and Oregon Farm Bureau, advocating for free enterprise solutions. He serves as the longest-tenured member of the Oregon Law Commission.
