Urban Design Manager

TriMet design manager Fiona Lyon has spent 16 years advancing transit-oriented development and environmental planning across the Portland region. She has secured significant grant funding to expand transit agency value and built public-public partnerships between local agencies, creating multiplier effects on regional investments.

Lyon represents the Oregon chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects on the Executive Committee of the AIA Urban Design Panel and serves TriMet on the Metro Technical Advisory Committee. She provides regular mentorship to students at UC Berkeley, Portland State University and the University of Oregon pursuing careers in environmental planning, transit-oriented development, and urban design.

Lyon noted that many leaders she admires 鈥渁re modest, consistent, and lead by elevating the voices of others,” particularly community leaders and public service peers who work to improve their communities.

She volunteers with Friends of Trees, p:ear, Solve, SAVE International, and she collaborates with the International Society of Arboriculture and regional land use and transportation policy organizations.
